After a combined 85 years of service to the University of Kentucky, Sociology Professors Dwight Billings and Jim Hougland retired in May 2017. To honor their legacies of mentorship, scholarship, teaching, and service, the Department of Sociology has created the Billings-Hougland Scholarship Gift Fund to provide financial assistance for Sociology doctoral students. Our colleagues will be sorely missed, but we honor their contributions to the department and the university with this scholarship.
